Fortnite Season 9 introduces major changes to the game. The Season 9 trailer begins where Season 8 ended with a volcano eruption.

Jonesy and Peely flee the volcanic destruction and take shelter in an underground bunker filled with arcade machines, a DJ turntable, and a home gym.

The bunker's refrigerator is empty except for a single tin can. After a significant amount of time passes, Jonesy emerges from the bunker having consumed Peely as a banana smoothie.

Neo Tilted has been constructed during their time underground. The episode will investigate whether Jonesy could have realistically survived on Peely alone.

Reddit user SnuSnu420 calculated that based on Jonesy's beard growth and average hair growth rates of half an inch per month, he spent eight years, five months, and five days underground.

Using world record hair growth rates of seventeen inches per year, Jonesy's beard could have grown in just two years, eleven months, and twenty-two days.

The central question becomes: could eating Peely, a six-foot human-sized banana, provide enough calories for Jonesy to survive for nearly three years?

The analysis assumes Jonesy's daily caloric needs range from 900 calories in starvation mode to 2,300 calories for normal maintenance.

A six-foot tall Peely would weigh approximately 200 pounds and contain the equivalent of 769 medium bananas (seven to eight inches in length).

With each medium banana containing 105 calories, a six-foot banana man would provide 80,724 total calories.

At 900 calories per day, Jonesy would consume all 80,724 calories in less than 90 days, leaving him to starve three months into the bunker stay.

Eating Peely alone would provide far less than the three years of food needed, making survival on banana alone impossible.

If Peely is actually a person in a banana suit, a fully grown human would provide 81,500 calories, barely more than the 80,724 of banana composition.
