But despite all that time we're just now unveiling lore that could answer some of the franchise's longest kept secrets.
7 chapitres
  • Introduction and Setup(0'003'03)
Pokemon games Red and Blue are nearly 20 years old, while Ruby and Sapphire are nearly 13 years old, yet new post-game content in remakes is revealing franchise secrets.
The Delta Episode in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire contains lore that could answer the franchise's longest-kept questions about why different game versions exist.
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire introduced Mega Evolution, a new form of Pokemon evolution powered by the bond between trainer and Pokemon.
Instead of just being a ploy to sell two games, what if the different versions exist for an in-game lore reason?
  • Quantum Physics and Steven Stone's Skitty(3'035'40)
Steven Stone and his Skitty replace the classic Schrodinger's cat experiment to explain quantum superposition and the many worlds interpretation.
Observing the Skitty collapses two possible outcomes (alive or dead) into one true outcome.
Instead of collapsing to one outcome, a separate universe exists for each possibility: one where Skitty is alive, another where it has fainted.
This interpretation can explain Pokemon game mechanics where significant outcomes create entirely new parallel universes.
  • AZ's Ultimate Weapon and Mega Evolution Origins(5'407'34)
3000 years before Pokemon X and Y, trainer AZ lived in the Kalos region with his beloved fairy Pokemon Floette, who was killed in a regional war.
    • AZ built a machine to resurrect Floette and accidentally gained the ability to live forever • He reconfigured the machine to be powered by Pokemon lives instead of other energy • Millions of Pokemon died to bring Floette back
The combined trauma of all Pokemon deaths and the weapon's energy irradiated Stonehenge-like rock formations outside Geosenge town, enabling Mega Evolution.
One universe has Mega Evolution (weapon fired), while another universe has no Mega Evolution because the weapon was never fired and millions of Pokemon never died.
  • The Delta Episode and Dimensional Rifts(7'3410'14)
A 6-mile-wide asteroid (same size as the one that killed dinosaurs) is on a collision course with Earth during the Delta Episode.
Devon Corporation harnesses the same energy AZ created with his weapon to power a device that tears a hole through reality and opens a portal to another dimension for the asteroid to pass through.
    • A parallel world exists that is just like this one but different • That world has a Hoenn region where Mega Evolution is unknown • A world where the war 3000 years ago never happened and the ultimate weapon was never built
Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire are set on a different timeline and dimension than other games in the series, explaining why Mega Evolution never existed until these games.
  • Extended Theories and Loose Ends(12'0113'26)
    • Ash references the Minnesota Vikings in the Pokemon movie, suggesting knowledge from a different dimension • PC and Pokeball technology may use pocket dimensions to store items and Pokemon • The name Pocket Monsters may refer to creatures stored in pocket dimensions
    • Devon Corporation has new symbols suggesting they visited the Twitch Plays Pokemon universe and encountered Lord Helix • The ghost girl from Pokemon X and Y saying you're not the one may be an inter-dimensional traveler rendezvous
In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red/Blue Rescue Team, Diglett says his feet feel like they're floating in air, possibly existing in another dimension.
Pokemon may have always been about connecting your little world with someone else's through dimensional rifts, or Game Freak simply didn't think about these implications until fans asked questions.
  • Conclusion and Sponsorship(13'2614'27)
Quantum physics and the many worlds interpretation explain the Pokemon multiverse and different game versions as parallel dimensions connected by Link Cables.
Pikachu unexpectedly delivers a lesson in quantum physics through the franchise's core lore and mechanics.
NatureBox provides snack delivery service, with examples including chocolate banana chips, coconut date energy bites, and dark cocoa snacks.
After covering complicated Pokemon lore, the host jokes about needing to research a less complex game like Metal Gear Solid.
