Game Theory: Don't Trust Your Friends (Roblox Rainbow Friends)

Multiple indie horror sequels are releasing this summer including Security Breach DLC, Project Playtime updates, and Garten of Banban sequels.

Players were trapped for five days by the Red Rainbow Friend (The Scientist), escaped through vents, and Chapter 2 picks up immediately after with escape to Oddworld amusement park.

The old man is found breaking into the facility at the start, which is immediately suspicious. Players blindly follow his instructions despite this questionable beginning.

• He knows the Rainbow Friends are dangerous bloodthirsty monsters and recognizes Blue as a sign of danger • He knows how to lure creatures with cake and how to escape from Yellow • Yet he seems unaware the creatures are currently active and lies about needing light bulbs for help

Wears a leather jacket, thick rimmed glasses, and has a smirk, matching the appearance of Trenton, co-founder of Rainbow Friends.

The old man is revealed to be Trenton, Oswald's original business partner from 1972, who is much older now and appears to be breaking in to sabotage Red's operations.

Red (Oswald) wanted to keep growing and make characters more realistic, while Blue (Trenton) disagreed. Red replaced animatronics with actual living Rainbow Friends around 1991 and ousted Trenton from the company.

Red is now using creatures called lookies and tainting the local water supply with Rainbow Friend heads to transform everyone into Rainbow Friends.

Trenton returns to sabotage his old business partner and stop the mad power trip Red has been on. Red had the chance to kill Trenton in Challenge 3 but chose not to, suggesting a history between them.

Looking through a terrarium glass in Chapter 1, Trenton's portrait transforms from a cool guy in a leather jacket to a man in a suit with glasses, top hat, and purple ribbon, suggesting he is hiding something more sinister.

Trenton doesn't accompany the player at the end of Chapter 2 despite insisting they leave. He directs players to stay on the roller coaster through the maintenance exit, suggesting the elevator to the surface may not lead where expected.

Computer screens in Rainbow Friends show 'RBM' (parody of IBM Computers), which also appears in another Roblox game called The Little Ones, created by Charcle, one of Rainbow Friends' developers.

Spider's premium pass showing a businessman with glasses, top hat, and purple ribbon matches the exact face hiding inside Trenton's portrait, suggesting Trenton may be the same villain across all three games turning people into monsters.

Trenton may not be a good guy despite appearing to help. He could be a spider in disguise or a nefarious businessman running experimental procedures across companies, bringing terror through spider bites, mutation, or water supply contamination.

VHS tapes in The Little Ones are labeled as 2019, suggesting the lore of Rainbow Friends, The Little Ones, and Spider may be linked together in a shared universe of experimentation.

Despite insisting everyone must leave when Rainbow Friends appear, Trenton stays behind saying his work isn't done. He explicitly directs players to stay on the roller coaster through the maintenance exit rather than using other exit points.

The elevator to the surface at the end of Chapter 2 may not be leading where players expect, and players are warned that in a game full of rainbow colored friends, the only true friend they have is themselves.
