L’évaluation française des écosystèmes et des services écosystémiques, dite Efese, a pour objectif de renforcer la prise en compte de la biodiversité et de ses multiples valeurs dans les politiques publiques et les décisions privées en France. Il s’agit d’un programme national et d’une plateforme entre science, décision et société.

The French Assessment of Ecosystems and Ecosystem Services, known as Efese, aims to strengthen the integration of biodiversity and its multiple values in public policies and private decisions in France. It is a national program and a platform linking science, decision-making and society.

  • Origin and objectives of Efese
    Launched in 2012 by the ministry, Efese applies at the national level objectives similar to those of IPBES, the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services.
    • Efese brings together a set of evaluation activities covering ecosystems and their services at various scales. • In an iterative and progressive framework, this program aims to build relevant, credible and legitimate tools to raise stakeholder awareness of biodiversity values and support decision-making.
